If you were wondering, “why gsbase,” here is your answer. GS could stand for grand slam, but it doesn’t. It stands for Gilbert & Sullivan. I’m a fan. The blog may be a baseball blog, but don’t be surprised to see musical theatre postings here. The base does stand for baseball. Although now I’m reminded of a favorite joke: The choir is singing, and there’s a huge obvious mistake in the music. The conductor stops the rehearsal. The sopranos say “Oh, it was the altos who made the mistake.” The altos say “Yeah, it was us who made the mistake.” The tenors say “There was a mistake?” And the basses say “What page are we on?”

Hee! What does that have to do with the above, you ask? Well bases – it sounds like basses.

Oh stop complaining. You just learned a new joke, didn’t you?
